Announcing the Winners of the Solana Renaissance Hackathon

Colosseum is proud to reveal the results of the Solana Renaissance Hackathon, a global online event aimed at advancing transformative projects within the Solana ecosystem. As the 9th hackathon organized by the Solana Foundation, Renaissance brought together visionary founders and developers from over 95 countries to create groundbreaking solutions across multiple fields, including infrastructure, gaming, decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), DAOs, DeFi, and consumer applications.

With more than 8,300 participants teaming up to submit 1,071 projects, this hackathon not only showcased the innovative spirit of the Solana ecosystem but also set a new benchmark as the largest online competition in the network’s history. Sponsored by industry leaders like Symmetry, Phantom, IO.NET, Pyth, Orca, Solana Mobile, Brave, and Squads, the event provided a significant platform for emerging crypto entrepreneurs to kickstart their projects.

Dan Albert, Executive Director of the Solana Foundation, encapsulated the importance of the event by stating:

Grand Champion

Ore earned the top accolade, taking home $50,000 USDC and exclusive passes to Breakpoint 2024 in Singapore (September 19-21). This revolutionary project introduces a digital currency using an innovative proof-of-work algorithm built on the Solana blockchain.


Consumer Applications Track

  • 1st Place: Banger.lol – A marketplace for trading tweets and supporting creators. ($30,000 USDC)
  • 2nd Place: Wootz Browser – A crypto-enabled browser monetizing user engagement with generative AI.
  • 3rd Place: Chomp – A social platform providing gamified consensus and impactful insights.
  • 4th Place: Movement – A trading app enabling seamless discovery and exchange of memecoins.
  • 5th Place: DePlan – A pay-as-you-go solution enhancing end-user payment options.

Honorable Mentions: Projects like Fastmind, Aloy, Unruggable, Let’s Cook, and SyncLink showcased impressive development and innovation, earning well-deserved recognition.


Crypto Infrastructure Track

  • 1st Place: High TPS Solana Client – Leveraging efficient pipelines to enhance transaction throughput. ($30,000 USDC)
  • 2nd Place: Torque – An on-chain offers protocol for builders and dApps.
  • 3rd Place: xCrow – A tool for developers working with Solana escrow programs.
  • 4th Place: Cambrian – A restaking platform for economic coordination.
  • 5th Place: Merit – A tokenized points protocol for fully on-chain applications.

Honorable Mentions: Notable projects include GeckoFuzz, Icedancer, and Egeria Lite, which stood out for their unique contributions to infrastructure development.


Gaming Track

  • 1st Place: Meshmap+City Champ – A 3D mapping game incentivizing token rewards. ($30,000 USDC)
  • 2nd Place: Legends of the Sun – A battle arena allowing up to six players to compete for rewards.
  • 3rd Place: Mining Badger Game – An on-chain crafting game using the Honeycomb Protocol.
  • 4th Place: Moon Boi Universe – A mobile-optimized cyber-fantasy open-world RPG.
  • 5th Place: Maneko Pet – A simplistic yet engaging mobile game reminiscent of Tamagotchi.

Honorable Mentions: Games like LePoker, Blockpal, and JogoJogo caught the judges’ attention for their creativity and execution.


DeFi & Payments Track

  • 1st Place: Urani – An intent-based swap aggregator combating toxic MEV. ($30,000 USDC)
  • 2nd Place: GLAM – A decentralized asset management protocol.
  • 3rd Place: Nomad – A Nigeria-based payment app simplifying crypto off-ramping.
  • 4th Place: Ripe – An app enabling seamless QR-based payments across Southeast Asia.
  • 5th Place: Exponent – A yield-based derivatives trading protocol.

Honorable Mentions: Exceptional efforts were made by projects such as Carrot, Bestlend, and Mocha, which earned honorable mention spots.


DePIN Track

  • 1st Place: Blockmesh – Monetizing excess bandwidth in an open network. ($30,000 USDC)
  • 2nd Place: DeCharge – Affordable, globally compatible EV charging solutions.
  • 3rd Place: dBunker – A financial derivatives ecosystem for DePIN projects.
  • 4th Place: CHRO+ – Advancing predictive personalized healthcare through decentralization.
  • 5th Place: Pomerene – Revolutionizing international trade with pallet tracking.

Honorable Mentions: Standouts include Repl, BloomSkyX, and Hajime AI for their impactful contributions.


DAOs & Communities Track

  • 1st Place: DeTask – Utilizing DAO labor and AI for product development. ($30,000 USDC)
  • 2nd Place: DeStreet – A Solana Mobile-based platform enabling collective trade.
  • 3rd Place: TokenGator – A tool for managing dynamic NFT collections.
  • 4th Place: Maindocs – Empowering organizations to create custom, verifiable documents.
  • 5th Place: Quadratus Protocol – Introducing quadratic voting for DAO governance.

Honorable Mentions: Noteworthy efforts included xFriends, SolanaHub, and Syncvote, which demonstrated forward-thinking applications for decentralized communities.


Special Recognition

  • University Award: DeVolt – A project led by university students, awarded $10,000 USDC.
  • Public Goods Award: Zircon – An open-source project benefiting Solana developers, earning $10,000 USDC.
  • Climate Award: AquaSave – Recognized for its sustainability efforts, receiving $10,000 USDC.
